The not always gentle giants of the African plains. My mom had a truly profound spiritual awakening staring into the eye of an elephant named Jack in Zimbabwe. It made a huge impact on her life at I think a rather critical point. Amazing animals in a way that I don't think we can truly grasp - is it their scale? (My dog, a Jack Russell -also named Jack, he's a peach!!- has a different sort of scale thats hard to comprehend, an inner scale). I love capturing the textures in Elephant skin.
